I want to make Japan’s outdoor environment better! With this vision in mind, I became a WMA instructor, hoping to spread wilderness emergency medicine. Drawing from my knowledge and experience as a former Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) medical officer and an international mountain doctor, I strive to provide courses that are clear, in-depth, and fun to learn. My goal is to become the "ultimate instructor."

Born in Tokyo in 1984 and raised in Tokyo.

1989–2003, attended Tsukuba University-affiliated elementary, junior high, and high schools, which shaped my current personality—free-spirited and always hungry. Being unique (= a bit eccentric) is a compliment!

2003, entered the National Defense Medical College. Performed well academically and was appointed chairman of the national medical exam preparation committee. However, I became deeply passionate about mountaineering during my time at the college, and as my climbing experience grew, my grades plummeted. The day before my final exam, I was still climbing at Jogasaki—but I managed to pass the national medical exam with the lowest possible score.

2009, graduated from the National Defense Medical College and was commissioned as a medical officer in the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. Primarily engaged in training and research related to low-pressure environments. During this time, I published academic papers on mountain medicine, participated in mountain training with the Air Rescue Team, and worked in remote island assignments.

2015, became the 42nd person in Japan to earn the Diploma in Mountain Medicine (DiMM).

2017, started mountain medical patrol activities in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, which I continue to this day.

2020, completed a PhD at the National Defense Medical College (including one year of study in the UK). My research focused on the mechanisms of altitude sickness.

2022, feeling limited in my role as an SDF officer, I resigned from the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (rank at resignation: Lieutenant Colonel). Moved to Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, and established a Mountain Medical Support Office. Became a WMA instructor.

2024, began full-scale activities as a YouTuber. Together with my wife, I share useful information about mountain medicine.
